TWO BROTHERS LOST THEIR LIVES
In the incident that occurred in the Kanker district of Chhattisgarh state, the bear attacked people near a field. According to reports in the international press, brothers Chamrin Jurri (40) and Halalkhor Jurri (38) lost their lives in the attack. It was reported that their younger sister, Khorin Bai, who tried to save her brothers, was also seriously injured.
The New Indian Express reported that a total of four people lost their lives and three were seriously injured in separate bear attacks in the Kanker and Dhamtari districts.
NEW FOOTAGE EMERGED AFTER THE ATTACK
In the new footage recorded following the attack that resulted in the deaths of two people, many individuals are seen gathered in the area where the bear was located.
While the moments when the crowd intervened with sticks were captured on a mobile phone camera, significant commotion is visible at the scene.
Although images suggesting that the bear died as a result of this intervention have circulated, no official statement confirming that the animal was killed or a reliable international press source could yet be reached.
AUTHORITIES TOOK PRECAUTIONS IN THE AREA
After the attack, residents in the area reacted by claiming that forest officials had been late to intervene. The Times of India also reported on the residents' reactions towards the Forest Department following the incident.
Authorities, on the other hand, have begun efforts to prevent new attacks in the region.
