In Erzurum, young people tied their friend to a pole on his birthday and playfully beat him, pouring flour and breaking eggs over his head. When the police received a report of a person being tied to a pole and beaten, they went to the scene with 112 emergency personnel and learned that it was a joke. The young man's hands, which were tied with a rope, were cut off by health workers and he was rescued. Upon seeing the young people laughing shamelessly, a police officer said, "We come here as if there is an important issue, look, the ambulance is here, we are here." The incident took place in the evening hours in the Yakutiye district. The emergency call center received a report that a person was tied to a pole and beaten on Mehmet Sekmen Boulevard on the airport road. The police and health teams, who quickly went to the address, learned that a group of young people had tied their friend to a pole and celebrated his birthday as a joke, and that the neighborhood residents reported the incident thinking it was real. The angry police officer said, "Young people, what is this? Have you lost your mind? These kinds of things are not acceptable. The public doesn't know about this. We come here as if there is an important issue. Look, the ambulance is here, we are here." The young people, realizing that what they did was wrong, apologized to the teams. The police and health teams announced to the news center that the incident was misunderstood and only a birthday celebration, and left the area. The young people got into their vehicles and left.
