An SUV on the D-100 Highway in Üsküdar started burning for an unknown reason. The vehicle, quickly engulfed in flames, became unusable, causing a brief panic in the area.
FLAMES ROSE FROM UNDER THE VEHICLE
The fire occurred around 09:00 AM in the Acıbadem area of the D-100 Highway. According to information obtained, a KIA brand SUV with license plate 34 FR 3442 started burning while in motion for an undetermined reason.
The driver noticed the situation, pulled the vehicle to the roadside, and tried to extinguish the flames with fire extinguishers together with nearby citizens.
QUICKLY CONSUMED BY FLAMES
Despite interventions, the flames quickly engulfed the entire vehicle. Firefighters and police were dispatched to the scene upon notification. Police took security measures in the area while fire crews intervened in the fire.
The fire was brought under control and extinguished, but the vehicle was completely burned and rendered unusable.
"THE CAR BURNED RIGHT BEFORE OUR EYES"
Haydar Yılmaz, who witnessed the incident, stated that flames rose from the bottom of the vehicle and said, "Fire started coming out from underneath until the vehicle stopped. When the fire came out, the car caught fire. We tried to find a fire extinguisher but couldn't reach it in time. The car burned right before our eyes."
CITIZENS RUSHED TO HELP
Ahmet Faruk Temiz, who performed the first intervention, stated that he noticed the fire while passing by and said, "I saw the fire while going to class. I pulled over and intervened with an extinguisher. We stopped vehicles on the road and tried to support with fire extinguishers. There were also small explosions. We moved citizens to a safe area and waited for the firefighters."

After the work of fire crews, an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the extinguished fire.
