The 2025 Critics Choice Awards have been postponed due to the ongoing horrific wildfires in Los Angeles. The ceremony, which was scheduled to take place on January 12 at the Barker Hangar near Pacific Palisades, has been rescheduled to January 26, while many events in the area have also been canceled. Joey Berlin, CEO of the Critics Choice Association, stated, "This ongoing tragedy has deeply affected our community. Our thoughts are with those fighting the fires and those affected." According to the Los Angeles Fire Chief, at least two people have died and many others have been injured in the fires that started Tuesday morning and spread rapidly due to strong winds. In the area where more than 30,000 people have been evacuated, an area the size of three football fields is burning every minute. CELEBRITIES' HOMES BURNEDAccording to a report by Dailymail; as luxury homes in Pacific Palisades, where many celebrities live, turned to rubble one by one, the homes of Adam Brody, Leighton Meester, and Anna Faris were completely burned down. While Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner, and Mandy Moore left the area, James Woods and Steve Guttenberg reported that their properties were damaged. Celebrities living in the area shared messages of support on social media regarding the fire. Paris Hilton and Hailey Bieber shared photos showing the severity of the situation, while Chris Pratt thanked the firefighting teams in a post on Instagram. Additionally, the Eaton fire in the Pasadena area of Los Angeles claimed two lives and led to the evacuation of an elderly center. The premieres of films such as Wolf Man, Unstoppable, and Better Man, as well as the BAFTA Tea Party, were also canceled in the area.
