The man's ploy, who reacted by saying 'There's a hair in the food,' was foiled thanks to security cameras. Restaurant chef Mehmet Çubuk rebelled against the situation, saying, 'If only he had said, 'I don't have money,' we would have given it to someone in need anyway.'
An astonishing incident took place at the restaurant owned by renowned chef and social media phenomenon Mehmet Çubuk in the Arnavutköy district of Istanbul. A customer who came to the restaurant with his child resorted to an unimaginable tactic after eating the ordered meal to the very end.
SECURITY CAMERA EXPOSED THE SCHEME
Toward the end of the meal, the individual placed a strand of hair he had pulled from his own body into the plate, then called the restaurant manager to the table. Claiming that a hair had come out of the food, the customer reacted and stated that he did not want to pay the bill. Suspicious of the situation, the establishment's staff reviewed the security camera footage. After watching the images, the staff clearly identified that the customer had put the strand of hair into the plate himself.
"IF ONLY HE HAD SAID 'I HAVE NO MONEY'"
Reacting harshly to the scandal, restaurant owner and chef Mehmet Çubuk expressed his reproach over the disparagement of hard work, saying, "And he came with his child. If only he had said, 'I have no money, I can't afford to pay.' We already give to those in need."
