In the case of the criminal organization led by Aziz İhsan Aktaş, the verdict regarding 205 defendants, including mayors, is being announced today. The prosecutor had requested prison sentences of up to 280 years for Aktaş, 234 years for Rıza Akpolat, 179 years for Ali Rıza Yılmaz, 12 years each for Abdurrahman Tutdere, Zeydan Karalar, Kadir Aydar, Utku Caner Çaykara, Oya Tekin and her husband Celal Tekin, and up to 2 years for Ahmet Özer.

The decision hearing will be held today in the case of the 'criminal organization' allegedly led by Aziz İhsan Aktaş, who is accused of organizing tender processes by bribing mayors.

EYES ON SİLİVRİ: THE VERDICT WILL BE ANNOUNCED

Within the scope of the 'Aziz İhsan Aktaş criminal organization' case, the decision hearing will be held in the trial where 5 detained defendants, 2 of whom are mayors, and 200 non-detained defendants are being tried. 

In the hearing to be held at the new courtroom located opposite Marmara Closed Penal Institution, the verdict is expected to be announced for 200 defendants, including Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeydan Karalar, Beşiktaş Municipality Mayor Rıza Akpolat, Seyhan Municipality Mayor Oya Tekin, Avcılar Municipality Mayor Utku Caner Çaykara, Esenyurt Municipality Mayor Ahmet Özer, Ceyhan Municipality Mayor Kadir Aydar, who were removed from their duties, and Adıyaman Municipality Mayor Abdurrahman Tutdere, who was reinstated. In the hearing, the defendants' final statements will be heard first.

FROM THE OPINION

In his opinion on the merits, the prosecutor requested a prison sentence of 103 to 280 years in total for non-detained defendant Aziz İhsan Aktaş for the crimes of "forming an organization for the purpose of committing crimes", 29 counts of "tampering with tenders", 19 counts of "forgery in private documents", 4 counts of "forgery in official documents", 3 counts of "bribery" and 3 counts of "tampering with the performance of an obligation". 

For Rıza Akpolat, a prison sentence of 86 to 234 years in total was requested for 30 counts of "tampering with tenders", 17 counts of "forgery in private documents", 2 counts of "forgery in official documents", 1 count of "qualified fraud", 2 counts of "bribery", "laundering of property values derived from crime" and "unjust acquisition, concealment or smuggling of property".

In the opinion, a prison sentence of 64 years and 6 months to 179 years in total was requested for non-detained defendant and Beşiktaş Municipality Deputy Mayor Ali Rıza Yılmaz for 21 counts of "tampering with tenders", 17 counts of "forgery in private documents", 2 counts of "forgery in official documents" and "qualified fraud". 

For defendants Abdurrahman Tutdere, Zeydan Karalar, Kadir Aydar, detained defendant Oya Tekin and her spouse, detained defendant Celal Tekin, a prison sentence of 4 to 12 years each was requested for the crime of "bribery". 

In the opinion, where it was requested that non-detained defendant Ahmet Özer be punished with 6 months to 2 years in prison for 2 counts of "misconduct through negligence", it was requested that non-detained defendant Utku Caner Çaykara be acquitted of the crime of "prevention, abduction or detention of transportation vehicles" and be punished with 4 to 12 years in prison for the crime of "bribery".
