The autopsy report prepared as part of the investigation into the deaths of a mother and her 5-year-old son, whose bodies were found 9 days after they went missing in the Bozkurt district of Kastamonu, has been completed. The report states that the mother, Huriye Helvacı, died of hypothermia, while her 5-year-old son, Osman Yaşar Helvacı, died due to a fall from a height.

The investigation conducted by the İnebolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the discovery of the lifeless bodies of 43-year-old Huriye Helvacı and her son Osman Yaşar in the forested area of Köseali village, located in the Bozkurt district of Kastamonu, is ongoing.

THE CAUSE OF DEATH OF MOTHER AND SON IN AUTOPSY REPORT

The autopsy report prepared by the 1st Forensic Medicine Specialization Board of the Ministry of Justice's Forensic Medicine Institution regarding the deaths of the mother and child has been sent to the İnebolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

"THE CAUSE OF DEATH OF MOTHER HURIYE HELVACı IS HYPOTHERMIA"

In the report, which stated that there was no medical evidence of death due to poisoning for mother Helvacı, the following evaluations were made: "The traumatic changes detected in the person's body during the external examination are of a nature that could occur while walking in the forested area after the person undressed (paradoxical undressing) due to the feeling of increased body temperature caused by the dysfunction of the center regulating body temperature (thermoregulation) as a result of staying in a cold environment (hypothermia). It is concluded unanimously that they are not of a nature that could cause death, and there is no medical evidence that the person died from any other traumatic effect other than staying in a cold environment (hypothermia), and it is unanimously considered that the person's death occurred as a result of staying in a cold environment (hypothermia) and the complications that developed."

"THE CHILD DIED AFTER FALLING FROM THE ROCKS"

The report also noted that no DNA sample belonging to a different person was found in the examination of Huriye Helvacı's body and clothes. Regarding Osman Yaşar Helvacı, the report stated, "It is unanimously concluded that the child's death occurred due to blunt force trauma resulting in skull fractures, intracranial bleeding, and brain tissue destruction, and that it is possible that he fell from the rocks specified in the crime scene investigation report."

THE MOTHER'S PHONE WAS ALSO EXAMINED

Additionally, it was learned that the phone of mother Huriye Helvacı, which was found closed in the forested area, was also opened as part of the investigation. According to the information obtained, it was understood that the phone, which had shut down due to a dead battery, showed no suspicious circumstances during the examination.

Search efforts were carried out to find Huriye Helvacı and her 5-year-old son Osman Yaşar Helvacı, who left their home in the district center on November 2. On November 11, the child's body was found at the base of a waterfall in the forested area of Köseali village, while the woman's body was discovered approximately 50 meters above her son's location.
