In the investigation launched due to allegations of irregularities in disability reports at Orhangazi State Hospital in Bursa, the detention of 13 suspects, including 3 hospital staff, has caused a shock effect. While the suspects are still being held in custody, it has been learned that the scandal was uncovered by the chief physician.

The Orhangazi Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into allegations of irregularities in the reports given to disabled individuals at Orhangazi State Hospital. The teams from the Provincial Police Department's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch, which took action, detained a total of 13 suspects, including 8 who received reports, 3 hospital staff, 1 former doctor, and 1 former hospital employee, in an operation conducted a few days ago. It is claimed that irregular reports were obtained for the purchase of vehicles exempt from Special Consumption Tax (ÖTV), and the investigation is ongoing.

THE CHIEF PHYSICIAN REPORTED IT

The scandal that shook Turkey was revealed by the chief physician. According to allegations, Uz. Dr. Ferit Alaybeyoğlu, the Chief Physician of Orhangazi State Hospital, who closely monitored the suspects, reported the matter to the Provincial Health Directorate in 2023. The Provincial Health Directorate immediately took action and informed the Ministry of Health about the situation. The Ministry of Health then sent inspectors to Orhangazi State Hospital. Initially, the hospital's outpatient clinic secretary H.K.C. was dismissed. Later, the Ministry of Health brought the matter to the Orhangazi Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. The prosecutor's office has been investigating the matter for a long time under a confidentiality decision.

THEY HAVE PRESENTED NON-PATIENTS AS PATIENTS

It has emerged that, in order to provide cars with a disability report, non-patients were diagnosed with kidney failure, and individuals who were not diabetic were labeled as diabetic. Another striking allegation is that patients' blood test results were altered for the disability report, as stated in the reports to the prosecutor's office.

It is claimed that the system has been operating this way for many years, and it has been learned that hundreds of vehicles have been provided in Orhangazi thanks to the disability reports.
