The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office denied reports in some media outlets stating that certain individuals, including Ekrem İmamoğlu, who were taken into custody, were not given their medications and that medical examinations were conducted at the police station.
In the investigations regarding "terror and organized crimes" against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), 84 people, including IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlu, Şişli Mayor Resul Emrah Şahan, Beylikdüzü Mayor Murat Çalık, and İmamoğlu's press advisor Murat Ongun, were taken into custody. İmamoğlu, whose home was searched by hundreds of police, was later taken for a health check. Some media outlets claimed that the medical examination of certain individuals, including İmamoğlu, was conducted within the police station and that the medications they needed were not provided. A written statement regarding the matter was released by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
DENIAL FROM THE PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE
In a statement made by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was stated, "Reports in some media outlets claiming that certain individuals taken into custody within the scope of the investigation, especially Ekrem İmamoğlu, were not given their medications and that medical examinations were conducted within the police station do not reflect the truth and are misleading. All suspects are ensured to use their medications while in custody, and this situation is documented by the law enforcement agency. Additionally, the medical examinations of the suspects are conducted in a private room where there are no law enforcement officers and outside the police building," it was expressed.
