After the attack on Galatasaray player Lucas Torreira in Istanbul, striking details emerged in the investigation. It was determined that the detained suspect, Yusuf Yıldırım, had made posts containing death threats against Lucas Torreira on social media.

Lucas Torreira, the star footballer of Galatasaray who won the league championship in the Süper Lig, was attacked in front of a shopping center in Camiikebir Mahallesi, Kasımpaşa, Beyoğlu. According to claims, Torreira was subjected to a punch attack by a person named Yusuf Yıldırım while leaving a cafe. Upon the report, police teams were dispatched to the scene.

CAUGHT IN A TAXI

Police teams caught and detained the 32-year-old suspect, who was trying to flee the scene, in the taxi he boarded. The investigation revealed that the suspect had a record for the crime of "intentional injury."

It was learned that Torreira filed a complaint against the attacker. It was also determined that during the incident, Torreira's driver punched the suspect in an attempt to separate the parties.

DEATH THREATS REVEALED

As part of the investigation, it was revealed that Yusuf Yıldırım had previously made threatening posts targeting Lucas Torreira. In social media messages, the suspect was found to have threatened İpek B., who is stated to work in the communication unit of Galatasaray Sports Club, the player's ex-girlfriend Devrim Özkan, and Lucas Torreira.

It was observed that the suspect used expressions containing death threats against the Uruguayan footballer and wrote that he would "hire a hitman if necessary."
