The statement by MHP (Nationalist Movement Party) Chairman Devlet Bahçeli has initiated a new resolution process, which gained momentum with PKK (Kurdistan Workers' Party) leader Abdullah Öcalan's calls for "laying down arms" and "dissolution." Recently, the DEM Party delegation met with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. While the DEM Party delegation is preparing for a meeting with Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç to evaluate the legal arrangements related to the process, MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli stated in a written statement yesterday, "It is the most reasonable and just option for the PKK to hold its congress, complete the organizational dissolution process in response to the February 27 İmralı call, and hand over its weapons to the Republic of Turkey."
