The Constitutional Court ruled that there was no violation of rights in the application filed by Fenerbahçe players and club officials claiming that their 'right to life was violated' regarding the incident where the Fenerbahçe team bus was shot at in Trabzon on April 4, 2015.
The Constitutional Court (AYM) ruled that there was no violation of rights in the application alleging a violation of the right to life due to the lack of an effective investigation into the armed attack on the Fenerbahçe football team's bus on April 4, 2015, in Trabzon.
CONSTITUTIONAL COURT SAYS “NO VIOLATION”
According to information compiled by the AA correspondent, some Fenerbahçe supporters, including football players and club officials, claimed that the right to life had been violated because an effective investigation was not conducted into the incident and a decision was made not to prosecute further some suspects, and they filed an individual application with the AYM.
The High Court discussed and decided on the application at its agenda meeting on April 22.
The AYM, which ruled that the claim of violation of the right to life was admissible, decided in its examination on the merits that the procedural aspect of the right to life guaranteed under Article 17 of the Constitution was not violated. The justification for the AYM's decision will be written later.
The football team of Fenerbahçe Sports Club was subjected to an armed attack in Trabzon on April 4, 2015, while returning by bus from the Çaykur Rizespor match. The investigation into the incident concluded with a non-prosecution decision approximately 5.5 years later.
