Ankara Chamber of Commerce (ATO) Board Chairman Gürsel Baran thanked the economic administration for raising the limit for tax payments made by credit card to 5 million lira. Baran stated that the demand for increasing the limits for tax payments by credit card was also on the agenda of their members and that they had conveyed this to the Revenue Administration in the near past. "I thank our economic administration, which responded positively to our call by demonstrating a sensitive approach to the demands of our business community and raised the limit for tax payments made by credit card to 5 million lira. I believe that this decision will positively reflect on both the number of compliant taxpayers and tax revenues," he said.
"WELL RECEIVED"
ATO President Gürsel Baran made a written statement, indicating that the increase of the limit on credit cards used for collecting accrued taxes from 1 million TL to 5 million TL was well received by ATO members. He noted that although credit cards have entered every area of commercial life, tax payments could not be made by credit card until recently, and they have brought this issue, which is among the demands of their members, to the agenda whenever possible.
"I BELIEVE IT WILL POSITIVELY REFLECT ON TAX REVENUES"
Reminding that the regulation allowing tax payments to be made by credit card was implemented by the Revenue Administration, ATO President Baran stated: "This regulation, which allows tax payments by credit card, has been very beneficial for our business community, but the limits initially set for tax payments by credit card had started to seem insufficient over time. As the Ankara Chamber of Commerce, we had previously expressed our demands for raising the limits, and the limits had been raised several times. Recently, there have been frequent requests indicating that the limits applied at the level of 1 million lira were not sufficient for taxpayers and needed to be increased. We conveyed this request to the Revenue Administration a few days ago. I thank all our economic administration for responding positively to our call by demonstrating a sensitive approach to the demands of our business community. I believe that this decision will positively reflect on both the number of compliant taxpayers and tax revenues.
