Images showing a bakery in Çanakkale disregarding hygiene rules, despite its slogan "I'm at the top, you can't hear my voice," have sparked reactions. The footage showed a person walking on the counter where pide (a type of Turkish flatbread) is made while wearing slippers. During inspections, the bakery was fined 105,274 lira for non-compliance with hygiene standards. Citizens reacted to the fine, stating that the bakery should be closed.
The images that emerged from the Bereket Ekmek bakery in the Atatürk neighborhood of the Çan district of Çanakkale shocked those who saw them. The footage showed a bakery worker walking around the counter with ready-to-bake pide in daily clothes and blue slippers. The sight of one of the workers wearing a cap and the disregard for hygiene rules caused outrage.
"DOES EVERYONE HAVE A CAP?"
In the video, the person recording with a cell phone said, "The Konak bakery has started making pide with and without filling. They produced a batch at three-thirty. No problem, does everyone have a cap? Master Hasan is stuck to the shovel handle, he won't let go anyway. Are the pide 25 lira? Are the pide 25 lira, Master Hasan?" To this, the pide maker Master Hasan responded, "300 grams of pide is 25 TL." The person continuing to record said, "Good, very nice. Let's also film the master. Happy Ramadan. Master Hasan, good luck, see you."
A FINE OF 105 THOUSAND LIRA WAS IMPOSED
The video shared with the slogan "I am at the top, your voice is not heard" drew great reaction after it was posted on social media. Following the footage being accepted as a complaint, the Çanakkale Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry teams took action. During the inspections, a fine of 105,274 TL was imposed on the bakery for non-compliance with hygiene conditions. Citizens reacted to the fine imposed on the bakery, stating that it should be closed.
