The arrival in Moscow of US President Trump's special envoys Witkoff and Kushner with a mission to end the war has energized the field. The Kremlin announced that attacks on Kyiv have been paused for 3 days to allow the US delegation to safely continue its contacts in Ukraine and to open space for diplomacy. US President Donald Trump's Special Envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, and Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, have arrived in Moscow, the capital of Russia, for diplomatic contacts aimed at ending the Russia-Ukraine war. Ahead of the visit, a notable decision came from the Kremlin, as it was reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered no strikes on Kyiv for 3 days starting from midnight.
PUTIN'S SPECIAL ENVOY WELCOMED THEM
According to Russia's official news agency TASS, the private plane carrying Witkoff and Kushner landed at Moscow's Vnukovo Airport at 12:52. Putin's Special Envoy Kirill Dmitriev welcomed the US representatives at the airport.
PUTIN WILL RECEIVE US REPRESENTATIVES
Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, in his statement regarding Witkoff and Kushner's visit to Moscow, reported that the two US representatives will be received by Vladimir Putin.
Peskov stated that Ukraine had informed the Russian side about a temporary ceasefire, and announced that Putin had ordered the Russian army not to conduct strikes on Kyiv for 3 days starting from midnight.
Peskov stated that the decision was linked to the contacts that US representatives will hold in Kyiv.
THEY WILL MOVE TO KYIV AFTER MOSCOW
Following their contacts in Moscow, Witkoff and Kushner are expected to move to Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. The US representatives are planned to hold talks here with the Ukrainian administration regarding ending the Russia-Ukraine war.
Reports in the Ukrainian press also claimed that the Ukrainian army was ordered to halt attacks from midnight until September 6-8.

Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov announced that by the order of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Russian army will not conduct strikes on Kyiv for 3 days starting from midnight.
Peskov stated that the decision was linked to the preparation and conduct of the contacts that US representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will hold in Kyiv.
The Ukrainian press also reported that the Ukrainian army was ordered to halt attacks on September 6-8. Thus, a temporary ceasefire is expected to be implemented on the ground during the US representatives' contacts in Moscow and Kyiv.
