Due to heavy fog in the Dardanelles Strait, visibility has decreased, resulting in the closure of two-way transit ship passages. Additionally, the Çanakkale-Eceabat ferry services have been temporarily suspended.

The dense fog, which has been increasing its effect in the Dardanelles Strait, has caused disruptions in maritime transportation. Due to the reduced visibility, the strait was closed to two-way transit ship passages around 06:25.

Officials from the Dardanelles Strait Vessel Traffic Services Directorate warned ship captains entering from the North and South via radio and announced that the strait traffic was closed. Ships began to wait in the anchorage areas at the entrances of the Sea of Marmara and the Aegean Sea.

FERRY SERVICES CANNOT BE OPERATED

Meanwhile, due to the fog affecting the Dardanelles Strait, ferry services on the Çanakkale-Eceabat line have been temporarily suspended.
