The trial date has been set in the case concerning the death of Oğuz Murat Aci, who lost his life in an accident involving unlicensed driver Timur Cihantimur, who turned 17 on March 1, 2024, in Eyüpsultan. If the extradition procedures are completed, Cihantimur will appear before a judge for the first time on July 8.
In Eyüpsultan, on March 1, 2024, unlicensed driver Timur Cihantimur, who was 17 years old, collided with three ATV-type vehicles parked on the roadside due to a breakdown while driving. As a result of the accident, 29-year-old Oğuz Murat Aci lost his life, and other individuals present were injured.
After the accident, Cihantimur's mother, Eylem Tok, allegedly collaborated with individuals including father Bülent Cihantimur to flee the scene with her son and later take him abroad.
EXTRADITION FROM THE USA PENDING
The investigation into Timur Cihantimur regarding the incident has been completed, and considering he was 17 at the time of the incident, a request has been made for him to be sentenced to imprisonment ranging from 1 year and 9 months to 12 years for the crime of 'causing death and injury through conscious negligence.' Additionally, a red notice request has been issued for Cihantimur, and his extradition from the USA is pending.
INDICTMENT ACCEPTED
The prepared indictment was accepted by the Gaziosmanpaşa 4th Heavy Penal Court. Following the acceptance of the indictment, a preliminary hearing document was prepared by the court. The document stated that the suspect fled abroad after the incident date, and although he was detained and arrested in a foreign country for a period, it was decided that his detention status would continue and witnesses would be heard during the trial.

Meanwhile, it was reported that Timur Cihantimur will appear before the judge on July 8 at 13:30 if the extradition process in the USA is completed and he is brought to Turkey.
