Serbian President Vucic, who opposed the declaration of July 11 as "Srebrenica Genocide Remembrance Day" at the UN General Assembly, shed tears while holding the flag when the resolution was approved.

The United Nations General Assembly has accepted the resolution presented by Germany and Rwanda, with Turkey being one of the co-sponsors along with more than 40 other countries, declaring July 11 as the "Srebrenica Genocide Remembrance Day."

The resolution was accepted despite objections from Serbia. During the session held at the UN General Assembly for the resolution, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, speaking before the vote, argued that the resolution was "highly political."

Vucic, who stated that individuals responsible for the incident had been punished, expressed that the resolution would not contribute to the stability and unity of Bosnia and Herzegovina or the region, but rather increase divisions.

Accusing Germany of threatening countries that did not support the resolution and asking, "Are these the values of Europe?" Vucic broke into tears when the resolution was accepted.

The footage of Vucic wrapping himself in the Serbian flag and crying as the names of countries that voted "yes" appeared on the big screen became a trending topic on social media.
