As Israelis panic and seek ways to leave the country due to retaliatory attacks that have turned cities like Tel Aviv and Haifa into rubble, the Netanyahu government has banned Israeli citizens from leaving the country. Following this scandalous decision, a civil society organization called the "Quality Governance Movement" announced that it would appeal to the Supreme Court.
The war that began with Israel's "Rising Lion" operation on June 13 and Iran's retaliation named "True Promise" has entered its 7th day.
THE TOLL IS HEAVY
At least 224 people have died in Israel's attacks, including high-ranking military officials such as Iranian Chief of General Staff Bakiri and Commander of the Revolutionary Guards Selami. In its retaliation, Iran targeted Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Haifa with hundreds of ballistic and hypersonic missiles, in addition to drones (UAVs). Due to missiles that surpassed Israel's air defense system "Iron Dome," at least 24 people have lost their lives in Israel.
EXIT OF ISRAELIS FROM THE COUNTRY IS PROHIBITED
In a panic due to the inadequacy of Israel's air defense systems, Israelis began searching for escape routes from the country. Since June 13, the Israeli government has kept airports closed and is trying to prevent exits by sending civilian aircraft abroad.
Transportation Minister Miri Regev also issued a decree prohibiting Israeli citizens from leaving the country, except for foreigners and tourists. In response, calls for the evacuation of Tel Aviv are increasing in Israeli media. Many Israelis are also trying to escape by sea.
DECISION TO BE TAKEN TO THE SUPREME COURT
A civil society organization named 'Quality Governance Movement' announced that it will apply to the Supreme Court against the restrictions the Israeli government plans to impose on Israelis' exit from the country following the attacks on Iran.
In a statement from the 'Quality Governance Movement,' it was noted that it is inappropriate for the government to unilaterally decide on such a 'comprehensive ban' on citizens' exit from Israel. The 'Quality Governance Movement' called on the government to find a more balanced solution that harmonizes the 'legally protected right to freedom of movement' with public safety.
