A vice president was elected to replace the Mayor of Beylikdüzü, Mehmet Murat Çalık, who was arrested in the Municipal Council. The CHP candidate, Önder Serkan Çebi, became the vice president. In the election, Çebi received 24 votes, while the AK Party candidate, Özlem Bilgiç, received 12 votes.
