Details have emerged regarding the Income Complementary Family Support Program, known to the public as the "citizenship salary." Three different scenarios are being evaluated concerning income conditions and payment amounts in the support model planned for low-income families.

WHAT WILL THE INCOME CONDITION BE?

According to news on NTV, the most important criterion for benefiting from the program will be household income. According to one of the options on the table, the total income of the family must be less than one-third of the net minimum wage. Based on the current minimum wage, this amount will be below 9,358 liras.

3 DIFFERENT SUPPORT SCENARIOS

  • In the first scenario, it is planned to provide cash support equal to 20% of the minimum wage to the family. Additionally, extra assistance will be provided under housing and child headings. Under housing support, assistance will be provided for electricity, natural gas, housing, and fuel at a rate of 15% of the minimum wage. Child support will be at a rate of 5% of the minimum wage.
  • In the second scenario, the total support is projected to be 17% of the minimum wage. In this model, housing support is planned to be 12%, and child support is planned to be 5%.
  • In the third scenario, the support rate will be at 15% of the minimum wage. In this case, it is aimed for housing support to be 10% and child support to be 5%.

ASSISTANCES WILL BE COLLECTED ON A SINGLE CARD

All assistance will be collected on a single card. Some of the supports can be withdrawn in cash, while others can be used at a discount for basic needs such as food and cleaning through the card.

APPLICATIONS WILL BE MADE THROUGH E-GOVERNMENT

Applications for the program will be made through e-Government. There will be no household visits for the income test; data such as SGK, Revenue Administration, bank account transactions, and title deed records will be checked through a common system. Applicants will be required to be registered in this system. Households accepted into the program will be monitored monthly. It has been stated that a legal infrastructure will be prepared for the regulation.
