Tradesmen in Nusaybin reacted by stating that those who provoked with the flag were individuals coming from Syria. They emphasized that what happened should not be attributed to all of Nusaybin.

The DEM Party held its group meeting this week at the Border Park in Nusaybin, located at the Kamışlı border, with claims that an attack was carried out on Kurdish neighborhoods in Syria. During the group meeting, the police intervened with the group that wanted to walk to the border line to go to the city of Kamışlı. Meanwhile, the Turkish flag at the Kamışlı border was taken down.

NUSAYBİN TRADESMEN IN UPRISING

While the repercussions of this incident continue, tradesmen in Nusaybin stated that the flag provocateurs were those coming from Syria and emphasized that the incident should not be attributed to them.

PRESIDENT ERDOĞAN'S STRONG REACTION

President Erdoğan, who reacted strongly to the flag removal provocation during his party's group meeting, stated, "There is no longer any possibility of achieving a result here by cowardly attacking our glorious flag, as the terrorist organization has forced child-aged militants and civil people onto the field through pressure and violence, as they did yesterday at the Nusaybin-Kamışlı border. We will find those dirty hands that reached out to our flag and we will definitely hold those traitors accountable."

A REACTION FROM THE DEM PARTY

In a statement regarding the issue, DEM Party Spokesperson Ayşegül Doğan expressed that the incident "deeply saddened" them, stating, "We want to express that we absolutely do not accept the flag removal incident. Disrespect towards the flag, which is a common value of the Turkish society and a symbol of the country, is absolutely unacceptable. As the DEM Party, we want to emphasize that we do not approve of this behavior that diverts a rightful protest march from its purpose and that we find it wrong."
