The driver's license renewal date has been extended until July 31, 2025.

The Minister of Interior, Ali Yerlikaya, announced the development regarding old-type driver's licenses through a statement on his social media account. Yerlikaya used the following expressions:

We Have Extended the Renewal Period for Old-Type Driver's Licenses

According to the Temporary Article 10 of the Highway Traffic Regulation, the period set for the renewal of old-type driver's licenses has been extended until July 31, 2025, considering the current conditions and the needs of our citizens.

Currently, there are 5 million 413 thousand 148 old-type driver's licenses.

In order to prevent potential congestion at population directorates and healthcare institutions where health reports are issued, and to ensure that our citizens can complete their transactions without experiencing any grievances, please renew our old driver's licenses by the end of the extended period.
