The incident occurred on the D-400 Highway, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu Boulevard. The fire truck, proceeding with its sirens and roof lights to respond to a traffic accident in Değirmendere Neighborhood, had difficulty advancing due to a BMW with license plate 34 ZP 6976 traveling in the same direction.
DID NOT YIELD DESPITE SIRENS AND WARNING LIGHTS
The car, traveling in the left lane with its driver initially unidentified, did not yield to the fire truck despite the sirens and warning lights. The vehicle proceeded ahead of the fire truck for some time, causing a delay in the teams reaching the scene. The moments were recorded second by second on a mobile phone camera. The footage shows the BMW driver not vacating the left lane despite the fire truck approaching with sirens, failing to yield to the vehicle with right-of-way.
MADE TO REGRET THE ACTION
Meanwhile, teams from the Alanya District Police Department reviewed the footage and took action. Following investigations, legal proceedings were initiated against the driver identified as not yielding to the fire truck. The violating driver was issued a 46,000 TL administrative fine, their driver's license was suspended for 30 days, and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
