The result of the drug test taken at the Forensic Medicine Institution as part of the investigation into UltrAslan leader Sebahattin Şirin came back positive. In the examination, it was stated that amphetamine and methamphetamine were detected in Şirin's hair sample.
The result of the Forensic Medicine Institute test conducted within the scope of the investigation carried out by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Illegal Betting and Sports Crimes Investigation Bureau against UltrAslan leader Sebahattin Şirin has been announced.
TEST RESULT POSITIVE
According to Burak Doğan's report; in the examination conducted by the Toxicology Department of the Chemistry Specialization Board of the Forensic Medicine Institute, Şirin's drug test result came out positive. Amphetamine and methamphetamine were detected in Şirin's hair sample.
WHAT HAPPENED?
UltrAslan leader Sebahattin Şirin published an open letter addressed to Justice Minister Akın Gürlek on his social media account. In his post, he mentioned claims about the championship race and called for trust in the state. An investigation was initiated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Illegal Betting and Sports Crimes Investigation Bureau, focusing on his social media posts and club/fan relations. A detention order was issued for Şirin within the scope of Law No. 6222 (Violence in sports, illegal spectator entry/ticket transactions), Turkish Penal Code Article 217/A (Publicly spreading misleading information), drug use, fraud, and unlicensed possession of a firearm, and he was taken into custody by security forces.
HOUSE SEARCH AND INVESTIGATION DETAILS
During the procedures at the police department, cash, gold/jewelry, and an unlicensed firearm were seized in searches conducted at Şirin's residence. In his statement, Şirin said that the jewelry and money found in his home were years of savings and wedding gifts, and that he kept the firearm for personal security reasons. He also stated that there was no black market/free ticket connection between him and the club.
REFERRAL TO COURTHOUSE AND HOUSE ARREST DECISION
After his interrogation at the police department was completed, Şirin was referred to the Istanbul Justice Palace in Çağlayan following his health check. After his statement to the prosecutor's office, Şirin was referred to the duty judge with a request for judicial control measures such as house arrest and a travel ban abroad instead of arrest, on charges of publicly spreading misleading information, possessing an unlicensed firearm, and violating Law No. 6222. The Duty Criminal Court of Peace accepted the request and decided to place Sebahattin Şirin under house arrest and a travel ban abroad, releasing him under judicial control.
