IYI Party Kayseri Deputy Dursun Atas announced his resignation from his party. In his statement after his resignation, he stated that this decision was not based on any resentment or criticism, but rather stemmed from the desire to serve the people more effectively. "I WILL CONTINUE TO WORK BY CONSIDERING THE INTERESTS OF OUR NATION"In his statement, Atas said, "I believe that this resignation decision is now inevitable in order to use the representation authority given to me by our people in the best possible way. THE NUMBER OF DEPUTIES HAS DECREASED TO 31With Atas' departure, the number of seats of the IYI Party in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey has decreased to 31. HE JOINED IYI PARTY FROM MHPAtas, who was the Mayor of Pinarbasi district of Kayseri and was a member of the MHP's administration, resigned from his party in 2017 and joined the IYI Party. In the following process, he became a candidate for Kayseri Deputy from the IYI Party and was elected to the Parliament. WHO IS DURSUN ATAS?He was born in Pinarbasi district of Kayseri. His father's name is Battal and his mother's name is Mahmur. After completing his primary and secondary education in Pinarbasi, he graduated from Kayseri Sumer High School in Kayseri city center. He entered the Air Technical School in 1986. In 1987, he graduated from the Air Technical School as an Air Noncommissioned Officer and started his duty. After serving in various ranks of the Air Force for 20 years, he retired in 2007. After retirement, he worked as a manager in a family company. He was elected as the Mayor of Pinarbasi in the Local Government elections held in 2009 and 2014. He resigned from the Mayorship to become a candidate for Member of Parliament in the 27th Term Parliamentary elections. He entered the Parliament as the 27th Term Kayseri Deputy in the elections held on June 24, 2018.
