An explosion occurred in the area where the feed silos of the pasta factory operating in Anadolu Otoyolu Hendek toll booths were located for reasons yet to be determined at around 13:20 today. A fire broke out after the explosion. In the horrifying incident, 6 of the 28 workers were seriously injured.

GOVERNOR OF SAKARYA, KARADENIZ: 2 OF THE INJURED ARE INTUBATED

Sakarya Governor Yaşar Karadeniz announced that the number of injured in the explosion at the pasta factory in Hendek is 28. After visiting the workers being treated at the hospital, Governor Karadeniz, who came to the factory where the explosion occurred again, said, "We have 28 injured. 6 of them are in critical condition. We wish the patients a speedy recovery. I cannot say anything clear about the cause of the explosion yet. It is thought to have occurred in the milling section." It was stated that 2 of the injured were intubated.

MAYOR ALEMDAR: WE THINK NO ONE IS TRAPPED

Yusuf Alemdar, Mayor of Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality, said, "There is nothing clear about the explosion at the moment. There has been a strong explosion. There is no serious injury for now. We think no one is trapped."

MINISTER OF JUSTICE TUNÇ: JUDICIAL INVESTIGATION INITIATED

Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç announced that a judicial investigation has been initiated by the Hendek Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to determine the cause of the explosion in a pasta factory in Sakarya and the responsible parties. Minister Tunç wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the explosion in a statement on his social media account. Tunç stated that the necessary work is being carried out to extinguish the fire that broke out after the explosion and to treat the injured, and said, "A judicial investigation has been initiated by the Hendek Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to determine the cause of the explosion and the responsible parties."
