It has been announced that Paul Danan, the beloved star of Love Island and Hollyoaks, has passed away at the age of 46. The sad news was shared this morning on Instagram by Independent Creative PR.

In the emotional statement, it was said, "We share the tragic news of 46-year-old Paul Danan's death with great sadness. HE HAD CHEATED DEATH LAST YEAR

Danan, who played the character Sol Patrick in Hollyoaks and appeared in the first season of Celebrity Love Island in 2005, revealed that he had cheated death last year due to an electronic cigarette addiction. After years of smoking, the actor switched to electronic cigarettes, collapsed at his family's home, and was taken to the hospital.

Danan, who was warned by doctors that he might not survive the night, spent a week in intensive care at Whipps Cross Hospital in London.

In 2023, the actor established a special drama school for individuals struggling with addiction, supported by a lottery grant, and he had stated that he had to undergo therapy after participating in the Celebrity Coach Trip program in 2022. Describing the elimination process in the competition as "brutal," Danan said, "I needed to get some counseling. The show triggers many issues like rejection."

While his family, friends, and colleagues request privacy during this difficult time, it has been stated that no further statements will be made regarding the matter.
