The regulation preventing public officials from receiving dual salaries will come into effect on January 1. The legal arrangement regarding employees receiving salaries from only one source and setting an upper limit will come into force in 2025. Payments will not be made under the name of honorarium, salary, or bonus payments. For those serving in management, supervision, liquidation, and advisory board memberships, as well as in commissions, delegations, committees, and similar bodies, regardless of whether they are in private or public institutions, only one of these roles can be compensated without distinction between internal and external duties. HOW MUCH SALARY WILL THEY RECEIVE?The net amount of payments that can be made in a month under any name, such as honorarium, salary, or bonus, due to the duties performed, cannot exceed the result of multiplying the civil servant monthly coefficient by the indicator number of 108 thousand. This amount corresponds to 98 thousand lira as of today. WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO EXCESS SALARY?The amount to be paid to personnel holding multiple positions will be deposited into an escrow account reported by the institution where they are primarily employed, after necessary tax deductions are made from the amount to be paid. Payments related to positions that exceed the upper limit or for which no salary is received will be recorded as income in the general budget for administrations within the scope of the general budget, and in the relevant institution's budget for other administrations.
