In Diyarbakır, an ostrich gifted to a businessman was found in the neighborhood where the person who raised it lived, after a three-day search. The ostrich's escape story and its return to its owner brought emotional moments.
An ostrich that escaped from the garden of a businessman to whom it was gifted in Diyarbakır was found three days later in the rural neighborhood where the person who raised it lives.
THE ESCAPED OSTRICH RETURNED
Fesih Ateş, a 64-year-old father of 14 living in the Güzelköy neighborhood of the central Yenişehir district, was gifted two baby ostriches from Samsun by his son Abdulvasi Ateş a year ago to raise. The male ostrich died after a while. On February 11, Fesih Ateş gifted the female ostrich he raised to his relative, 31-year-old businessman Fırat Özateş, who operates a gas station in the Sur district. The ostrich escaped from the garden of Özateş's gas station the day after.
An search operation was initiated for the ostrich, which escaped by climbing over the wire fences of the workplace and disappeared after moving along the Diyarbakır-Silvan highway for a while. The ostrich came near the Güzelköy neighborhood where Fesih Ateş, who raised it, lives yesterday afternoon. Ateş's neighbors rescued the ostrich from a dog attack and returned it to its owner.
"AN EMOTIONAL ANIMAL"
Fesih Ateş told AA correspondent that the ostrich he raised had become very attached to him. "Wherever I went, it followed me. It is such an emotional animal," said Ateş, expressing his great love for animals. He stated that he was very sad when he learned that the ostrich he gifted to his cousin Fırat Özateş escaped by climbing over the wire fences of the workplace.
"I PRAYED A LOT FOR IT TO COME BACK"
Ateş expressed that the ostrich stayed outside for a while and returned to the neighborhood by following the road, saying, "When it got close to the house, it went back because the dogs from the opposite house were chasing it. Our neighbor there took it in to prevent it from getting hurt. I brought it from there." While expressing that he did not want to be separated from the ostrich again, Ateş experienced emotional moments, saying, "I was very sad when it was lost, I prayed a lot for it to come back. When I saw it, I hugged it and kissed it. Just as a person is happy when they find their lost child, I was that happy too. I am an emotional person, and when I saw it, I immediately hugged it." Ateş stated that he wanted to find a mate for the female ostrich.
