During the coronavirus period, the peak of inflation in Turkey left companies in a difficult situation, leading to numerous layoffs. This situation had also pushed unemployment figures in Turkey to their peak.

Prof. Dr. Hasan Okuyucu, a faculty member at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, was a guest of presenter Abdurrahman Yazıcı on Haberler.com. Prof. Dr. Hasan Okuyucu listed his suggestions for reducing unemployment figures in Turkey, stating that there is a direct correlation between the departure of Syrians from Turkey and the decrease in unemployment figures in Turkey.

Prof. Dr. Okuyucu emphasized that the Turkish nation has made significant sacrifices regarding Syrians, stating: "Especially in the textile sector, with the departure of Syrians in sectors where expertise can be gained in shorter periods, local workers will be included there. This will undoubtedly lower the unemployment figures. Our nation has shown a brotherly attitude towards Syrians by making serious sacrifices. I can say we have borne the burden. Some of our citizens have struggled to find jobs due to the cheap labor supply from Syrians."

"They should develop some organized industrial zones together with certain institutions in Turkey. There should be close cooperation in manufacturing, industrial development, employment, or marketing between Turkey and Syria. If we have experienced this difficulty in the market, I hope there will be a separation that will develop cooperation in trade."
