In the Erdemli district of Mersin, a foreign national who turned his home into a fully equipped clinic and introduced himself as a doctor was caught red-handed in a police operation. From the suspect's house, where he was found to have examined foreign nationals, an ultrasound device, cautery, scalpel, 20 boxes of medicine, and a large amount of illicit gains were seized.
An unbelievable fraud and fake doctor scandal, disregarding human health, has been uncovered in the Erdemli district of Mersin. The successful intelligence work of the District Police Department thwarted the scheme of an individual who turned his home into a secret examination room.
TURNED HIS HOME INTO A SECRET CLINIC
According to the information obtained, the Erdemli District Police Department teams received a tip-off that M.B., a foreign national living in the Alata neighborhood, was introducing himself as a medical doctor to those around him. It was determined that the suspect had turned his own home into an illegal clinic and was profiting unfairly by examining especially foreign nationals there.
Acting on the information, police teams conducted a surprise raid on the address in question. Upon entering the house, the teams saw that one of the rooms was completely designed to clinic standards.
ITEMS SEIZED FROM THE HOME RIVALED A HOSPITAL
During the detailed searches at the fake doctor M.B.'s home, numerous medical devices used in the illegal clinic that would normally be found in a healthcare facility were confiscated. The materials seized during the searches even shocked the police:
- 20 boxes of various brands of medical drugs
- 1 ultrasound device and its accessories
- 1 oxygen device
- 2 cautery devices (for cutting tissue by burning/stopping bleeding)
- 2 blood pressure monitors and 2 stethoscopes
- 2 boxes of surgical scalpels and 1 set of suture (stitching) materials
- 1 appointment book containing patient records
LARGE AMOUNT OF CASH CONFISCATED
During the searches conducted as part of the operation, a large amount of cash believed to have been obtained by M.B. through these illegal activities and by endangering human health was also found. The state confiscated 53,550 Turkish Liras and 3,880 US Dollars hidden by the suspect at his home.
The fake doctor M.B., who was taken into custody and brought to the police station, was handed over to the Provincial Migration Management officials for deportation after the completion of judicial procedures. The investigation into the incident continues.
