The journey of the family, who set out to reach a wedding in Kütahya, ended in tragedy in Burdur. The car driven by Süleyman Kalem, which set out from Antalya, lost control at Kurna Junction and crossed into the opposite lane. In the accident, the 49-year-old driver lost his life, while his wife and three relatives in the vehicle were injured.
In Burdur, the car carrying a family that set out to go to a wedding in Kütahya went out of control and hit the barrier and a lighting pole in the median. The driver of the vehicle, which crossed into the opposite lane due to the impact, lost his life, while 4 people were injured.
CAR HIT BARRIER AND CROSSED INTO OPPOSITE LANE
The accident occurred around 14:00 at the Kurna Junction on the Burdur-Antalya highway. The car with license plate 43 AAY 003, driven by Süleyman Kalem (49), went out of the driver's control and first hit the barrier, then the lighting pole in the median. Bystanders called for help for the car, which crossed into the opposite lane due to the impact.
Upon the report, medical and police teams were dispatched to the scene. During checks by medical teams, it was determined that the driver, Süleyman Kalem, had lost his life. His wife, Emel Kalem, who was in the vehicle, and relatives Fatma Sönmez, Rabia Künek, and Zeynep Sönmez were injured.
The injured were taken to Burdur State Hospital by ambulances and placed under treatment.
THEY WERE GOING FROM A HENNA NIGHT TO A WEDDING
It was learned that Süleyman Kalem, who lost his life in the accident, and those accompanying him had attended a relative's henna night in the Elmalı district of Antalya the previous night. It was stated that the family set out to go to a wedding to be held in Kütahya today.
THE DRIVER WHO SAW THE ACCIDENT ALSO ENTERED THE MEDIAN
Meanwhile, another driver who saw the accident at the scene also lost control of the car with license plate 06 DG 588 and entered the median. It was learned that no one was injured in this incident.
