Recently, serious problems related to stray dogs have been experienced in Turkey, and this time a pet dog targeted the young daughter of a famous presenter.
According to a report by NTV, presenter Aslı Özkaya's 7-year-old daughter Tanem was attacked by a "Rottweiler" breed dog that was being walked without a muzzle by a 14-year-old girl.
"IT BIT THE SCAPULA AND PULLED HER DOWN"
Aslı Özkaya stated that while walking on the edge of the sidewalk, a leashed and muzzled dog coming from the opposite sidewalk attacked her daughter from behind, saying, "It bit her scapula and pulled her down. As a mother, watching this was a very difficult experience. It threw my daughter to the ground and dragged her."
"THE OWNER ACTED NEGLIGENTLY"
Özkaya, who managed to rescue her daughter from the dog with the help of screams and the intervention of bystanders, emphasized that the dog's owner acted negligently.
"HOW CAN A DOG LIKE THIS BE GIVEN TO A 14-YEAR-OLD CHILD?"
Özkaya said, "How can a parent hand over a dog larger than my daughter to a 14-year-old child? The girl could not control the dog. While Tanem was being dragged on the ground, that girl went into shock and let go of the leash. She turned to us and said, 'My dog is eating, why are you passing behind it? If you pass, it will bite like this.' I can't bring myself to say she was conscious."
IT WAS REVEALED THAT THERE WAS NO RABIES VACCINE
While the family experienced great fear from the incident, they went to the police station to file a complaint against the dog's owners. During the veterinary check-up of the dog, it was revealed that it did not have a microchip or a rabies vaccine. The dog was taken from the family by municipal teams and taken to a shelter.
