MAYOR MEMDUH BÜYÜKKILIÇ: "KAYSERI IS BECOMING THE FLAGSHIP OF WINTER TOURISM"
Kayseri Metropolitan Mayor Memduh Büyükkılıç made special statements to Haberler.com reporter Dilşad Emine Özcan. Emphasizing that Erciyes has become an important center for ski and winter sports tourism, Büyükkılıç stated that the organization is a great opportunity for Kayseri and Turkey:
"Our championship will take place on March 15-16. Despite being held for the first time last year, there was a significant participation. This year, we expect many more competitors and spectators. The Erciyes Ski Center is becoming a hub not only for ski tourism but also for extreme sports organizations. This championship will contribute to the region reaching the place it deserves."
"WINTER TOURISM IN KAYSERI REVITALIZES THE ECONOMY"
Büyükkılıç also highlighted the economic impacts of winter tourism and such organizations in Kayseri:
"A multi-million dollar economy is being created in Kayseri through ski tourism. We believe that these figures will increase even more with such organizations. The occupancy rates of our hotels have already reached high levels. Our tradespeople, those working in the ski sector, and the tourism sector are benefiting greatly from these developments. Tourists coming to our city can experience a unique holiday by enjoying both Cappadocia and Erciyes together. A visitor who participates in a hot air balloon tour in Cappadocia in the morning can come to Erciyes to ski in the afternoon. Kayseri has a significant advantage for winter tourism."
Büyükkılıç emphasized that the management of Erciyes as a single entity facilitates the organization of events and that Kayseri's role in winter sports is growing every year.
