The identity of the person who killed his friend with a gun in Büyükçekmece was identified thanks to the fingerprints on the alcohol bottle he had thrown on the ground after drinking with his friend. The suspect, who was caught shortly after, confessed to the murder at the police station.

On March 14, Friday, around 02:00, a brutal incident occurred in the Fatih neighborhood of the Büyükçekmece district in Istanbul. Police teams were dispatched following reports from residents saying, "We hear gunshots." The teams that arrived at the scene found Faruk Yıldırım (45) lying on the ground injured. Yıldırım was taken to the hospital but unfortunately passed away despite all the efforts of the doctors.



EYEWITNESS DESCRIBED, POLICE PURSUED



In the investigation initiated by the Homicide Bureau, police obtained information from the statement of an eyewitness, indicating that a short, black-clad individual ran away. As a result of the investigation, it was determined that the suspect was captured on security cameras of some businesses while fleeing.



FINGERPRINT ON THE BOTTLE CAUGHT THE SUSPECT



Police teams conducting an examination at the crime scene found a bottle at the place where the deceased Faruk Yıldırım and his assailant had been drinking together. The fingerprint analysis conducted on the bottle led to the identification of a suspect named A.I. Following this development, A.I. was taken into custody by the police.



CONFESSED TO THE MURDER



It was learned that the suspect A.I., who was interrogated at the Public Order Branch, confessed to his crime. The suspect stated that he committed the murder because he had an argument with Faruk Yıldırım, but he did not provide any information about the reason for the argument. After the necessary procedures, the suspect was referred to the courthouse.
