The fire that broke out in a wooded area in the Mamak district of Ankara yesterday evening around 6:00 PM has still not been extinguished. The Ankara Governor's Office announced that the person who caused the fire has been taken into custody.
A fire broke out yesterday evening around 18:00 in a wooded area on Hüseyingazi Tomb Road, Başak Neighborhood, in Ankara's Mamak district.
FIREFIGHTING EFFORTS CONTINUE
Upon notification, firefighting teams were dispatched to the region. Efforts are ongoing to bring the fire, which is affecting a large area, under control with two water tenders and three tankers.
1 PERSON DETAINED
The Ankara Governorship made a statement regarding the fire. The Governorship stated that one person, identified as having caused the fire, was detained. The statement included the following: "A fire occurred in a wooded area in the Hüseyingazi region of Mamak district in our province, caused by an individual who is known and has been detained.
Following the detection of the fire, teams from relevant institutions and organizations, primarily firefighting teams, were dispatched to the region. Firefighting efforts are continuing unabated to bring the fire, which is affecting a large area, under control and prevent its spread to the surroundings.
Necessary security and precautions have been taken in the region due to the fire, and the coordinated efforts of our teams are ongoing. An investigation has been initiated into the cause of the fire, and firefighting efforts are being closely monitored. Announced to the public."
