The first hearing of the murder case of footballer Kubilay Kaan Kundakçı, who was killed in an armed attack in Ümraniye, is being held today. During the hearing, defendant Alaattin Kadayıfçıoğlu stated that he wanted to apologize to the Kundakçı family during his defense and said, 'I wish it had happened to me.' On the night of March 19, an incident occurred on Sıddık Street in Ümraniye, where rapper Vahap Canbay from the group Canbay & Wolker wanted to reconcile with his ex-girlfriend, singer Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu, from whom he had recently separated. Canbay asked for help from his friend Kubilay Kundakçı (21), who was reportedly on good terms with both. Kubilay Kundakçı went with Vahap Canbay and his friends to the studio where Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu was located. While the group was waiting in the vehicle, an argument broke out with Alaattin Kadayıfçıoğlu, who arrived at the scene in vehicles with flashing lights. Kundakçı, who was seriously injured after Kadayıfçıoğlu opened fire with a gun, died in the hospital where he was taken.
LIFE IMPRISONMENT DEMAND
In the indictment prepared by the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a life imprisonment sentence was demanded for Alaattin Kadayıfçıoğlu on charges of 'Intentional killing' and 'Unlicensed possession of a weapon', and for Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu on charges of 'Incitement to intentional killing'. In the indictment, a prison sentence of 6 months to 5 years was also requested for folk singer İzzet Yıldızhan on the charge of 'Harboring a criminal'.
FIRST HEARING
The first hearing will be held today at the Istanbul Anatolian 23rd Heavy Penal Court. Detained and non-detained defendants, including Alaattin Kadayıfçıoğlu, Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu, and İzzet Yıldızhan, appeared before the judge for the first time.
ALEYNA KALAYCIOĞLU'S TIRED APPEARANCE NOTED
In the Kubilay Kaan Kundakçı case, the detained defendant Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu was brought to the courtroom crying. Attending the hearing in a black t-shirt, Kalaycıoğlu took her place in the front section of the courtroom. It was noted that Kalaycıoğlu, who was seen with a correctional officer beside her, appeared tired. The court panel conducted the identity verification procedures for the defendants. Defendant Alaattin Kadayıfçıoğlu made his defense in the Kubilay Kaan Kundakçı murder case.
