After the arrest of Şişli Mayor Resul Emrah Şahan as part of a terrorism investigation, a trustee was appointed to the municipality. The trustee Cevdet Ertürkmen, who started work in the morning, immediately ordered the removal of İmamoğlu and Şahan posters. This decision was met with criticism from CHP Mersin Deputy Ali Mahir Başarır.
Şişli Municipality Mayor Resul Emrah Şahan, who was arrested as part of the "Terror" investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, has been sent to prison. Resul Emrah Şahan was suspended from his position by the Ministry of Interior; subsequently, Şişli District Governor Cevdet Ertürkmen was appointed as the trustee of Şişli Municipality. District Governor Cevdet Ertürkmen arrived at Şişli Municipality in the morning hours.

CHP Mersin Deputy Ali Mahir Başarır reacted to the trustee who started his duty today via his social media account.
Başarır wrote, "The appointed trustee has asked the elected Şişli Municipality Council Members to leave the municipality! The only person who needs to leave from there is you, trustee governor!"
