Fenerbahçe's opponent in the UEFA Champions League play-off round is Lyon. The French team, after losing 2-1 away to Sparta Prague in the third qualifying round, defeated them 3-0 in the return leg and matched up with the yellow-navy team.
Lyon, who faced Czech side Sparta Prague in the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League, lost the first match away 2-1. In the return leg in France, however, Lyon defeated their opponent 3-0 and secured their place in the play-off round, becoming Fenerbahçe's rival.
GOALS FROM NUAMAH, MAITLAND-NILES AND MORTON
The goals that brought Lyon the victory were scored by Ernest Nuamah in the 20th minute, Ashley Maitland-Niles in the 66th minute, and Tyler Morton in the 72nd minute. In the visiting team Sparta Prague, defender Adam Sevinsky was sent off with a red card in the 34th minute.
FIRST MATCH IN KADIKÖY
In the Champions League play-off round, the first match between Fenerbahçe and Lyon will be played on Tuesday, August 18, in Kadıköy. The return leg of the tie will be held on Wednesday, August 26, in France.
