In the Devrek district of Zonguldak, the suspect who removed and damaged the banner of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was arrested by the court he was brought before. It was learned that the suspect replied to a citizen who reacted to him removing the banner, 'Do you need it? You call the police, you report it.'

The incident occurred on the Ankara-Zonguldak Highway. According to the information obtained, the banner of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, which was hung on an overpass along the route by Devrek Municipality teams, was removed from its place. 

"CALL THE POLICE, INFORM THEM"

Citizens who noticed the situation recorded those moments with an amateur camera. A person named Ufuk Ö. removed the banner, which he had smeared with oil, from its place and carried it down from the overpass. Meanwhile, municipal teams came to the scene and reacted to the person. Ufuk Ö., who was confronted by a citizen saying, "Why are you taking this down?", replied, "Is it necessary? You call the police, you inform them." 

At this time, the person, who was learned to have called the police by phone, repeated his questions like, "You must be itching for trouble, right? Who are you, where are you from? You think you're above the President, don't you?"

DETAINED IN A SHORT TIME

As a result of the efforts initiated after the situation was reported to the authorities, an arrest warrant was issued for the suspect, who was determined to have removed the banner from its place and smeared grease on it. Acting swiftly, gendarmerie teams caught the suspect in a short time and took him into custody. 

ARRESTED

After the procedures at the police station were completed, Ufuk Ö. was referred to the courthouse and brought before a judge. The suspect was arrested by the judicial authorities and sent to prison.
