Abdul El-Sayed, the first Muslim elected to the US Senate, once again challenged Donald Trump. Responding to Trump's remarks about him, El-Sayed stated that he was ready to go through a metal detector and said that his offer to take a lie detector test still stood.

Abdul El-Sayed, the first Muslim elected to the US Senate, once again responded to Donald Trump's remarks about him. Saying he is ready to pass through a metal detector, El-Sayed reiterated his offer to the US President to take a polygraph test.

CALL TO TRUMP

Democrat Abdul El-Sayed, the first Muslim elected to the US Senate after winning the elections in Michigan, was a guest on ABC's The View. On the program, Donald Trump's remarks about him during the election campaign came up.

Trump had previously said that El-Sayed needed to be put through a metal detector in order to enter the Senate. In response to these words, El-Sayed had stated that he could pass through a metal detector, but that Trump should also take a polygraph test.

“I AM READY TO GO THROUGH A METAL DETECTOR ALL DAY”

Addressing Trump, El-Sayed stated that he had not given up on his offer and used the following expressions:

“I am ready to go through a metal detector all day because I have nothing to hide. Donald, if you are watching, my offer to take a polygraph test still stands.”

El-Sayed also touched on being targeted for his religious identity throughout the campaign and argued that political debates were being diverted away from issues such as the economy, healthcare, and citizens' cost of living.

HE BECAME THE FIRST MUSLIM ELECTED TO THE US SENATE

Defeating his Republican rival Mike Rogers in the election race in Michigan, 42-year-old El-Sayed became the first Muslim elected to the Senate in US history. El-Sayed, a former public health official, will be sworn in and take office on January 3, 2027
