The first reaction from Erkan Baş to Özgür Özel's statement, "Your party's vote is 1.5%."

CHP General Chairman Özgür Özel criticized the TİP for "One of them said we do not stand up in front of anyone... Well, the party's vote is 1.5% and you are getting it with the protest votes coming from us. We have transferred every speech you made in the Parliament to you in the past, I transferred it," in response to President Erdoğan being welcomed standing by the CHP group in the Parliament.

ERKAN BAŞ BROKE HIS SILENCE

In response to CHP leader Özel's criticism based on vote rates, Turkey Workers' Party General Chairman Erkan Baş did not delay in replying. Baş said, "We are complaining to our people about those who address the elements of the opposition that do not resemble themselves while normalizing with the government."

RESPONDED TO ÖZEL'S CRITICISMS TOWARDS TİP

Erkan Baş recalled the discussions regarding President Erdoğan being welcomed standing in the hall to address the General Assembly at the opening of the 3rd Legislative Year of the 28th Term of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, and reacted to CHP General Chairman Özgür Özel's criticisms towards TİP due to his attitude and behavior on this issue. Baş stated, "We were not there for reconciliation in the past, and we are not there for normalization today either. We are one of the representatives of the understanding of not opposing the opposition," and noted that they decided as a party not to participate in this session.

"IT IS POLITICALLY EMBARRASSING TO DISMISS THE VOTE OF ANY PARTY"

Baş continued, "The CHP administration seems to be in a hurry to respond to citizens who criticize it instead of sharing the justifications for this attitude. I watched Özgür Özel's words targeting TİP in a television program with real astonishment. It is politically very embarrassing to belittle the vote received by any party. It is not understandable for an experienced politician like Özgür Özel to repeatedly express 'I gave them the word.'; it is not true either. This is an approach that weakens social resistance against this government.

"I DO NOT FIND THIS ATTITUDE CORRECT AT ALL"

I wish Özgür Özel had criticized TİP for insufficient opposition against the AK Party. It is simply astonishing for an opposition party to criticize another opposition party by saying, 'You are too determined, you do not bend.' I do not find this attitude correct at all. Let us spend our energy on the struggle against the government. We are complaining to our people about those who address the elements of the opposition that do not resemble themselves while normalizing with the government."
