WHO IS MAHMUT ÇORUMLU?

Mahmut Çorumlu was born in 1968 in the Emirdağ district of Afyonkarahisar. He graduated from the Police College in 1986 and from the Police Academy in 1990. He started his career in 1990 as a Deputy Commissioner at the Ankara Police Department. He served successively in the Provincial Police Departments of Kars, Sinop, Sivas, and Kastamonu; in the Department of Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime; and as the President of the Police Inspection Board.

Between 2008-2010 and 2012-2013, he served in Ivory Coast as part of the UN (United Nations) peacekeeping force. In 2017, he completed his master's thesis on "The Relationships Between Intelligence and Counter-Intelligence Services." He served as the Chief of Police in Kırıkkale from October 2016 to September 2019. In September 2019, Mr. Mahmut ÇORUMLU was appointed as the Head of the Department of Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime, speaks French well, is married, and has two children.
