The security camera footage of the incident in Osmaniye, where a 6-year-old child lost their life after being electrocuted while washing their hands in an irrigation canal, has emerged. While 9 people have been detained, the governor's office stated, "During excavation work carried out by a natural gas company, the insulation of electrical cables passed through an iron pipe in the canal was damaged, creating a leak of electric current."
Özlem Üstün, who wanted to wash her hands in the irrigation canal passing by their house on Şehit Polis Mahmut Ava Street in the Kışla neighborhood of Toprakkale district in Osmaniye, was electrocuted. Her mother, Cennet Üstün, who tried to save her daughter, was also electrocuted.
MOTHER AND DAUGHTER WHO WERE ELECTROCUTED DIED IN HOSPITAL
The mother and daughter, who were seriously injured, could not be saved despite the interventions at Toprakkale State Hospital, where they were taken by private vehicle by those nearby.
9 PEOPLE DETAINED
As part of the investigation initiated by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was assessed that during excavation works carried out by a natural gas company near the scene, electrical cables were damaged, creating a leak of electric current. Following this, 9 employees of the natural gas company were detained.

Security camera footage related to the moments when the mother and daughter lost their lives has emerged. The footage shows the moments when Özlem was electrocuted while washing her hands in the irrigation canal, and then her mother Cennet, who ran to save her, was also electrocuted.
