After a fire broke out in a forested area in Marmaris district of Muğla, numerous water tankers, firefighting helicopters, and forest workers were dispatched to the region. As a result of the intensive intervention carried out from both air and land, the fire was brought under control in a short time.
A fire that broke out in a forested area between Bozburun and Selimiye in the Marmaris district of Muğla caused brief panic. After smoke rising from the area was noticed, numerous teams were dispatched, and the fire was brought under control through intensive aerial and ground intervention.
THOSE WHO SAW THE SMOKE REPORTED IT The fire started at the Asarcık Üzümbağları location on the Bozburun-Selimiye line in Marmaris. Citizens who saw the thick smoke rising from the forested area reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center.
After observation teams also determined the fire's location, numerous extinguishing teams were directed to the area.
Forest fire in Marmaris HELICOPTER AND WATER TANKERS WERE DISPATCHED In a statement by the Muğla Regional Directorate of Forestry, it was reported that 12 water tankers, 2 water supply vehicles, 1 construction machine, 1 firefighting helicopter, and numerous forest workers were dispatched to the fire area.
It was learned that the helicopter, which took off after the report, made consecutive sorties in the region.
BROUGHT UNDER CONTROL IN A SHORT TIME As a result of the coordinated work of air and ground teams, the fire was brought under control in a short time. It was reported that cooling efforts are continuing in the area.
An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire.
