Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that the foundation of the Trabzon Rail System Line Project will be laid on Tuesday, September 1. There will be 16 stations along the 16.2-kilometer route. The line, starting from Akçaabat and extending to Trabzon Airport, will serve over 87,000 passengers per day.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu announced that they will lay the foundation of the Trabzon Rail System Line Project, which will bring a new breath to Trabzon's urban transportation, on Tuesday, September 1st.

Minister Uraloglu stated, "Our line will start from the 10th Regional Directorate of Highways at the border of Akcaabat district and extend to Trabzon Airport."

THE LINE WILL SERVE WITH 16 STATIONS

Uraloglu, noting that the Trabzon Rail System Line will form a significant public transportation backbone on the city's east-west axis, said, "We will start the first phase from the 10th Regional Directorate of Highways located in the Yildizli neighborhood of our Akcaabat district. Our line will reach the Trabzon city center from here and will end at Trabzon Airport."

Uraloglu stated, "On our 16.2-kilometer route, we will have 16 stations: Highways, City Hospital, Trabzonspor Stadium, Bayindirlik Iskan, Besirli, Trabzon Regional Directorate of Forestry, Tanjant, Inonu, Atapark, Pazarkapi, Trabzon Square Park, Terminal, Sanayi, Forum AVM, Karadeniz Technical University, and Airport."

Uraloglu, stating that with the completion of the line, important points extending from the borders of Akcaabat district to the center of Trabzon and the airport will be connected to each other by the rail system, said, "Our project will respond to the increasing population and transportation demand, especially in the Akcaabat and Ortahisar districts. With the Trabzon Rail System Line, which will serve with 16 stations, we will connect the important living, education, and transportation points of our city with the rail system. From the City Hospital to the airport; from Karadeniz Technical University to the stadium, we will bring together the points frequently used by our citizens on the same rail system line."

OVER 87 THOUSAND PASSENGERS PER DAY

Uraloglu, also providing information about the technical features of the line, said, "Our vehicles will have a capacity of 360 passengers. The route operation time will be 26 minutes and 14 seconds. We foresee our line serving over 87 thousand passengers every day."
