After the prison sentence in the land murder case in Aksaray, the parties clashed in front of the courthouse. While the police intervened with tear gas, 4 people were injured in the fight, and 12 people were detained.
In 2023, the verdict hearing for a land dispute in which a person lost their life in Bekdik village, connected to the Sarıyahşi district of Aksaray, was held today at the Aksaray Courthouse. The court panel sentenced the defendant Selçuk Düğer to a total of 17 years in prison for the crimes of killing one person and injuring another.
TENSION RISES IN FRONT OF THE COURTHOUSE
After the announcement of the verdict, tension arose between the parties in front of the courthouse. The argument quickly escalated into a fight. Numerous police teams were dispatched to the address upon notification. The police teams that arrived at the scene intervened in the fight.
POLICE INTERVENED WITH TEAR GAS: 4 INJURED, 12 DETAINED
The police intervened with tear gas to disperse the crowd, resulting in 4 people being injured in the fight. The injured were taken to the Emergency Department of Aksaray Training and Research Hospital by ambulances that arrived at the scene. It was reported that the health condition of the injured being treated here was good, while 12 people were detained in connection with the fight.
BACKGROUND OF THE INCIDENT
The case in question was opened regarding the armed fight that occurred on December 29, 2023, in Bekdik village of the Sarıyahşi district. The incident arose from a land dispute between Fethi Düğer (52), who came from Ankara to work on his land in the village, his brother İsa Düğer (47), and their relative Selçuk Düğer (44). It was alleged that as the argument escalated, Selçuk Düğer fired a gun. Fethi Düğer lost his life in the incident, while his brother İsa Düğer was injured and taken to Kırşehir State Hospital.
