The incident occurred late at night on Çukurova Street in the Başak neighborhood of Yüreğir district. According to reports, Samet Aslan came to visit his aunt. At that time, Aslan, who was downstairs, was shot by A.D., with whom he had a feud for a year. Meanwhile, speaking to reporters, Mahmut Yüksel, a relative of Samet Aslan, claimed that young people in the neighborhood are constantly getting injured, stating, "There are constant incidents in our area. Our young people aged 18-19 are always getting hurt. Our young people are getting injured in their arms and legs. They all walk like penguins in the neighborhood. Unfortunately, we have been trying to bring this issue to the agenda for many years. Someone should intervene in these areas. Our young people are bright. Our 19-year-old nephew was shot and killed. Especially, our young people are starting to use drugs, and when they take pills, they think they are heroes. They kill people as if they are killing chickens. Our young people start using drugs at a young age and do not know what they are doing. Their eyes are not seeing," he said.
