In Istanbul’s Sarıyer district, 48-year-old Müyesser Kartav was found dead in her bed by her 16-year-old daughter S.K., who came home from school. It was learned that Kartav had undergone gastric sleeve surgery about 5 months ago and had frequently become ill after the surgery. The body of Kartav, whose death was found suspicious in the forensic doctor’s examination, was sent to the Forensic Medicine Institute to determine the exact cause of death. Kartav’s relatives who heard the news of her death got into a fight in front of the house.

HER DAUGHTER RETURNING FROM SCHOOL FOUND HER
In the incident that took place in PTT Evleri Neighborhood on Tuesday, October 6, according to information obtained, Şenol K. left the house after last seeing his wife, Müyesser Kartav, at around 14:30. At around 17:20, their daughter S.K., who came home from school, found her mother motionless in the bedroom.
S.K. went out into the street and asked those around for help. Upon the report, police and medical teams were dispatched to the address. During checks by medical teams, it was determined that Kartav had died.
HAD STOMACH REDUCTION SURGERY 5 MONTHS AGO
In the police investigation, it was determined that Kartav had stomach reduction surgery at a private hospital in Kağıthane about 5 months ago. It was learned that Kartav frequently fell ill after the surgery and went to the hospital both by ambulance and by her own means for treatment.
RELATIVES ARGUED IN FRONT OF THE HOUSE
Kartav's relatives who received the news of her death gathered in front of the house. An argument broke out among relatives who were reportedly already estranged from each other. The argument quickly escalated and turned into a fight.
HER DEATH WAS FOUND SUSPICIOUS
In the forensic doctor's examination, Kartav's death was found suspicious. The public prosecutor and crime scene investigation teams examined the house. After the examinations, Kartav's body was taken to the Morgue of the Forensic Medicine Institute in order to determine the exact cause of death. The prosecutor's office launched an investigation into the suspicious death.
BURIED IN HER HOMETOWN
Kartav's funeral was taken to Ağaçkesen village in the Safranbolu district of her hometown Karabük after receiving forgiveness from her neighbors on the street where she lived. Kartav was buried in the village cemetery after the funeral prayer performed following the noon prayer on Thursday, October 8.
